Vipassana - Mental Perception of Where Your Body is positioned in Space

4 hours ago 10

In meditation, through focusing on my inner sensations and feelings, while trying to diminish the subconscious resistance to the sensations, I realized that it's the resistance to those sensations that create the grasp I have on my surroundings, as well as my mental perception of where my body is in space. In other words, after completely diminishing the subconscious resistance, I lose my recollection of the position of my body. The response was immediate.

What I mean by diminishing the resistance to the sensations; most feelings and sensations coincide with concepts, like pain, sadness, joy, ect, and what creates the uncomfortableness with the feeling is the resistance you're putting up towards the concept associated with the feeling. By giving your full attention to the sensation, and diminishing the attachment between the concept and the feeling, the uncomfortableness of the feeling diminishes.

After the release of release of the tension, I not only lose my perception of where my body is, but also the direction in which gravity is acting on me.

Has anyone else experienced or noticed this?
