Hi all! I (25F) just relocated to Fort Lauderdale for a 6-month work assignment. I’m looking to get involved in the community through volunteer work and would greatly appreciate your recommendations!
I’m seeking volunteer opportunities with a quick onboarding process, recurring events on a weekly frequency, and people-centered work. I live around Las Olas and work in Hollywood.
Below are a few examples of work I’ve enjoyed: - Tutoring adults pursuing a High School Equivalency diploma - Serving as a companion for individuals on hospice and their families (non-medical support only) - Sourcing and preparing care packages for a women’s shelter
Please share any local organizations that perform the above/similar services. If you’ve had a great volunteering experience you’re not sure would align, share it anyway! I’d love to hear about how people are getting and staying involved in FTL.
Thank you!
