Just wanted to do a --PSA-- that the last Tuesday of every month, the Miami Civics Club meets up at Mindspace in Wynwood (6th floor) - 6:30 - 8:30pm.
It is non-partisan, free and an amazing way to get educated on a host of different topics that relate to civic engagement.
They bring in guest speakers to speak on a theme each month... with the end goal being to get more locals educated & involved in local elections.
Topics include the overall hierarchy flow of politicians (who you would contact when you have issues or ideas) to laws and budget / funding cuts that affect us at a local level - coming from the federal and state level on down.
This city deserves more young people involving themselves and becoming educated on issues! It is a great way to meet other like-minded individuals and organizations that are doing a lot of good in the community.
