Negotiating a rental price prior to signing lease

1 month ago 46

Hello . I make around $125,000 a year in Miami and planning on moving soon to Doral . I currently pay $2,000 a month for rent in Hialeah and want to live in a better neighborhood with more access to restaurants and bars etc . I like Doral and there is 1 particular building I am interested in moving to . Rent for a 1/1 is $2,400 and above . The manager told me sometimes they come down to $2,100 . But right now all the listings are $2,400 or some other ridiculous price . They already stated I qualify to live there based on background /credit checks and income . However, are these rental prices set in stone by the corporation /agency or can they be negotiated ? I emailed the manager and told her I would possibly sign the lease if they leave it for 15 month lease between $2,200-$2,250 a month ? I don’t think $150-$200 should make a huge impact but who knows . I’ve never negotiated rents . Is this feasible or just wasting my time ?
