Looking to buy a home

Looking to buy a home in broward around 450k 3 bed 2 bath. will most likely be enrolling the kids in private school no matter where we end up so not too worried about zoning but am concerned for safety. Initially took north lauderdale, tamarac, sunrise (we are looking to stay west) off the list but are there some areas in these cities we should consider or is there one slightly better than the other? Or should we just continue to avoid at all costs? Lol
