Is rapids as “ghetto” as it used to be?

I genuinely don’t think it was when I went last in 2017, but when I say I want to go to rapids people always tell me it’s too ghetto. Is this still a thing? Trying to take my younger siblings before the summer ends and I’m young, so I don’t want any trouble. Thank you in advance!
