Hey yall - after a 20 years hiatus, I am about to play a live show! I used to play in high school and college bands, but it fell by the wayside for about 18 years bc life. About 2 years ago I picked it up my old j bass and instantly fell in love again. Serendipitously a friend reached out about six months later knowing I had played bass before and asked if I wanted to join their project. I went against my introverted tendencies, said "yes", and have benefitted so much from it mentally and emotionally.
Anyway, the gig is in two weeks - I'm excited and nervous, and but I am SO EXCITED to be having these conflicting feelings again. The thrill is hitting.
I know the songs (all originals + 1 cover) and am currently working on upping my stage presence, running through the hour long set each day for the next two weeks on my own. We have one more rehearsal together a few days before. What tips would you all have for someone jumping back in?
