Does it make sense to replace my aging GTX 1070 with an RTX 5050?

I only game at 1080p and don't think I'll upgrade to higher resolution monitors for at least a couple more years.

Running an i7-6700K CPU with 16 gigs of DDR4 Ram.

also, my GPU might be on it's last legs
