Boardwalk at tradewinds

Does anyone know why they basically abandoned the nature walk at the back of the soccer field/ disc golf side ?

I remember on the late 2010s I would always walk my dog along that boardwalk , but after Irma they closed it and just haven’t reopened it

It was a cool little walk so it makes no sense that they would just leave it to rot away
