The website for the Florida DMV said that they require an "Original or Certified copy of a birth certificate" as 1 of your main mandatory documents to get your Florida state Real ID, but never mentioned that they will only accept an updated version. I brought my original birth certificate, which was given to me a few days after I was born, as proof of my US birth. It was rejected, and I was told to go to 4105 Pembroke Road, Hollywood, FL 33021, to get my birth certification updated. The DMV office will only accept birth certifications with the bluish borders, so be warned!
