are side walks only for pedestrians or are bikes allowed on the side walk?

ive been told multiple times i need to go in the bike lane but i was told that in touristy areas and i feel like the people that keep telling me to go in the bike lane not from down here.

so ineed to know if theres laws prohibiting bikers from the side walk and do pedestrians have to move out the way for people on bikes?
