WPB vs Fort Lauderdale: For community, young people, stuff to do

Hello, I accepted a job in Florida and have the choice to either live in West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale as part of the job. I'm 28 and moving with my partner ... wondering if anonymous people online can give me insight into West Palm vs Fort Lauderdale. Specifically curious regarding the following categories: young people, fun stuff to do, feeling of community.

I'm coming from a very small city and hoping there's more to do here ((Full disclosure: I'm also leaning heavily in favor of WPB currently because of recs from friends - but I'm open minded).
