why do people do this?

Why do people leave so much room… they weren’t even on their phone, can anybody explain?? I don’t think it’d be too significant bc the lights around here seem to be non sensor related but idk stuff to complain about, can’t help but get angry especially when traffic here is already so horrendous n there’s people who do this lol
