Where to find local communities/clubs

Basically the title. I want to help my mom get out more and meet new people near me (Hialeah or Miami Lakes), but I don't really know where to start. If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated. She likes gardening so my first thought was looking for a garden club, or just a group with similar interests.
