Where's the best places to stay for fun and amenities in Miami?

Just like the subject line. We are going to be in Miami in November for a cruise and we're planning to stay afterwards for a few days.

We're wanting something fun, places to eat and have a good time. Shopping too.

I've looked at Brickell and South Beach. Not sure where to book in at South Beach.
