So before we hispanics came here, Miami hospitals all followed the same rules as all states that immediate emergency family were to leave by a certain time. Yet, we all know battles ensued. I have been going to hospitals all my life (my mother's broken arm after a car crash), my grandmother's surgery, my mother's kidney issues, etc. And I was always able to stay with them in the rooms.
Well, since Covid they have gone back to their old ways. I tried to push today to stay in the hospital with my mother that's not fully conscious and here they were, still pushing me to leave. And I was the only one there (my partner had gone to do the household stuff).
I try to stay because I know mistakes can happen during transition periods, and I have previously caught missed medication or different medications in the past. What is giving as of recently? I understood it during Covid when my mom had pneumonia, but every hospital visit since then has gone back to the original way.
