South Beach or Elsewhere?

I’m planning to move here, specifically South Beach. I prefer the proximity to the beach and more walkability, but since it’s the main tourist location, I’m worried that I won’t be able to make any meaningful or lasting connections here. Am I better off going somewhere else?
