Should I move to south Florida or not?

I (32 F) have been a Florida hater for a while now. I moved down to WPB after college and the passing of my dad because my mom and step dad lived about an hour north. I lived there from age 22-25, and I definitely got caught up in the south Florida madness, party scene, etc. I hit a point where i realized the Peter Pan syndrome in men was horrible, the party scene was too much for me, and it didn’t seem like a good place to raise a family.

I moved away, got married, and now I live in the Midwest with my husband (38 M) and a 5 month old baby. We have no other family near us aside from one cousin. We do love our community and friends here though.

We just took our first family trip to Florida a couple weeks ago to see my mom and step dad. The help was so AMAZING. I’m starting to see why people live near family after having kids.

Am I crazy to want to move back to Florida just for my mom and step dad?

The biggest pro would be her and the help she would offer. We want to have more kids and know they’d be such a big help.

Are there good parts of south Florida to raise a family? Good schools? I’d like to live north of WPB as anywhere south of that seems too crazy for me.

Is the eternal heat going to make us miserable? I love the changing seasons…

I’m trying to look at Florida in a different light than I saw when I lived there in my 20s.

All opinions welcome please
