Question about Commuting via Tri-Rail to FLL

Hi, I work in downtown FLL, and am considering taking the Downtown Miami Tri-Rail to Fort Lauderdale Station for my morning commute. Does anybody else make this commute north? I see that it connects at the Metrorail Transfer Station. It seems it would be about an hour total to Fort Lauderdale Station with the transfer. For those that use Tri-Rail to commute north, I'd appreciate any first hand experience making this commute. Thank you ! :)
