Played bass for the first time ever with a live band! So much fun.

I’ve been playing guitar for around 20 years, messing around with bass for maybe 10 years. Aside from jam sessions, I’m basically a hobbyist player.

This weekend we had a party for my uncles 50th birthday and hired a 3 piece cover band. Several people told the band that I played and they encouraged me to join in. I was nervous (never have played with a full band), but they were very cool about it.

I decided to not play guitar since there was only 1 guitar player and I didn’t want the pressure of playing both rhythm and lead. I opted to “sit in” on bass and ended up playing 5 songs with them! After the first one I was hooked lol. Something about being able to integrate with a band I’ve never played with before made me feel like “man I don’t suck as bad as I thought” lol.

Below is a short clip of me playing “Miss You”, and my daughter vibing with the music haha.
