Parking Revenue Recovery Services Inc “Notice of non-compliance”

3 weeks ago 10

Hey guys!

So on the night of St Patrick’s day, a couple friends and I went bar hopping and one of the bars we went to was the Sweet Caroline Karaoke Bar

There was no parking up front so I park in this small parking lot across the street located at 75 SW 11th Street Miami, FL. I saw no signs of needing to pay or anything like that so I didn’t think twice about it. At this point it is 1:39 AM

After Sweet Caroline we start walking to nearby places and when it’s all done, I get my car from the parking lot at 4:05 AM

A week later today, I receive a letter in the mail labeled as a “Notice of Non-Compliance” from a company called “Parking Revenue Recovery Services Inc.” stating the violation as “No Permit/ No Facility Registration/ Unauthorized Parking” and charging me $110

The letter only contained very blurry and dark photos of my cars license plate and no indications from the parking lot of payment required or anything like that

They make note on the letter that “THIS INVOICE IS PRIVATELY ISSUED, IS NOT ISSUED BY A GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY, AND IS NOT SUBJECT TO CRIMINAL PENALTIES” in their exact words

This seemed a bit off and a high number even for Brickell standards, so I do research on this company and have found COUNTLESS 1-star reviews saying how they are scammers and are not legally allowed to collect funds from you

Should I Pay it? Should I attempt to dispute it? Should I ignore it? I have never had a parking ticket aside from an actual cop and especially not one in the triple digits

Anyone with more experience in the legalities of parking tickets or anyone who has experience with this company please feel free to share your thoughts on what you think I should do or your personal experiences with something like this as I am pretty uneducated on these matters

Thank you!

EDIT: Thanks for all my fellow miamians letting me know what this is in the comments…yeah i’m not paying that shit lol
