No waves beach?

Trying to find calm beach around Fort Lauderdale. Came here with toddler and we can’t swim or go into the water. Waves are crazy here.

Please advise which beach could be calmer and better for kids?

Is the situation better in Boca Raton area?

I found Hobie island beach park which is great, but driving is like 50+ minutes.
