Hey everyone,
My family and I recently moved to the area from Humboldt County, CA, and we’re renting an apartment for now while we figure out where to settle. My wife works for the county near the courthouse in downtown West Palm, and we’re starting to look for a home around the $550k mark.
We’ve got four little kids (all 10 and under), so we’re hoping to find a neighborhood that’s family friendly good schools, parks, and other families around. Somewhere we can actually make friends and feel part of the community, not just exist in it.
I’ve checked out some of the GL Homes communities in Boynton and Delray, which seem awesome, but the prices and commute might make it tough.
So I figured I’d ask the locals:
- What neighborhoods or areas do you think are solid for families with young kids?
- Anything that’s still a reasonable commute to the courthouse area?
- Any spots you’d personally avoid or wish you’d bought in instead?
We’re still getting used to Florida life (humidity and all 😂), but we’re loving it so far. Just want to make sure we find the right fit before jumping into a house.
Appreciate any advice you can share — help some transplanted bumpkins from Humboldt finally escape apartment life 🙏
Btw. We have an agent we’re happy with and lenders in place.
