It feels like a lot of musicians are craving a comeback of tonal music and the spirit of romanticism. Any modern composers ( i.e.1980s and later) who actually write tonally or draw on pre-serialist styles?

Feels like a lot of people in the classical world want tonal music to make a real comeback — stuff that’s new but still melodic and harmonic. Any post-1980 composers doing that kind of thing? I know about people like Pärt and maybe John Adams, but I’m curious if there’s a newer wave I’ve missed.

I am aware that the question and description are very vague, but it would take a long time to explain fully what are all the elements in romantic and pre-romantic music that people miss so much.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
