So, I live in Las Vegas and I’m looking to move to South Florida. We found this really nice house, but it’s been on the market for about two months. The backyard faces a thin body of water within the community. I’ve seen lakes and rivers before, but I’ve never seen this kind of man-made, narrow canal that just seems to have “nature” in the middle of it.
My partner was debating with me, saying this isn’t actually a canal and most likely isn’t connected to the main “Snake Creek Canal.” My concern is that, since the house backs directly onto this small, thin canal, there will probably be snakes, frogs, and all kinds of other critters in our backyard. I grew up in Florida, so I know critters are basically unavoidable anywhere but I’m sure it’s probably worse near water.
