is SIMDe (SIMD Everywhere) good?

I was thinking about using SIMDe for a cross-platform project, but I wanted to know about people's personal experiences with it. I've already read the "caveats" section, but I wonder if the "no performance penalty" really is true. Has anyone had any problems with it, or are there any hidden downsides?
