I need to vent. I don’t understand why the Golden Glades Interchange even exists the way it does.
When you’re heading south on the Turnpike, it narrows to one lane and then merges into I-95, creating a backup that stretches for miles on the Turnpike.
Then, when you’re going north on I-95, it expands into two lanes, then narrows to one, and finally merges back into the Turnpike causing another massive backup that runs all the way from North Miami past Brickell.
I’ve been making this drive for years, and I’ve noticed that even when there are no accidents and traffic seems to be flowing, congestion begins the moment you get close to the Golden Glades Interchange.
There is absolutely no reason why two major highways should funnel down to a single lane in both directions.
I can’t be the only one who’s frustrated by this…
