How safe is it to solo travel as a 23 y/o female?

I’ve been before but I had a friend who I’d hang out with out there. This time it would be totally alone.

I’m not too worried about being out in the day time, more so the night time. Is it a stupid idea to go out to clubs alone? Any places I should avoid?

side note: nervous because i’ve been approached by what I think were traffickers in mexico & nyc
