Help? The city/FPL is pressuring us to put a “transformer” in our front yard???

Is this happening to anyone else? We live by Mizner Park and they are incessantly asking us to provide a 10x10 underground easement and allow them to place a 4x4 box on a concrete pad in full view with no shrubbery or anything? They’re acting like it’s no big deal. I haven’t talked to a lawyer but it also feels like an eye sore??? Any thoughts or help is appreciated.
