Has anyone had a wedding or elopement at the Cape Florida Lighthouse (Key Biscayne)?

Hi everyone! I’m currently planning my wedding and strongly considering eloping at the Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne with a small group of about 30–40 people. I’ve found limited information online, and I was hoping someone here might’ve gotten married there or attended a wedding and could share their experience!

I’m mainly interested in:

• What the planning process was like
• Whether there were any additional permits or hidden fees beyond the $500 grounds use permit I found
• If the site offers any packages (like seating, setup, or coordinator options)
• Anything that surprised you or was worth knowing ahead of time

We’re just hoping to do the ceremony at the lighthouse, then have the reception at a separate location. I know I can call the venue directly, but I really wanted to hear from people with their own experiences before I dive in.
