Hey everyone,
I own a small one-bedroom unit (~830 sq ft) in Brickell and I’m looking to apply for a Certificate of Use (CU) to operate it as a short-term rental.
I already have the DBPR license and Business Tax Receipt (BTR), but I ran into issues getting the CU because the city asked for signed architectural plans with a licensed architect’s seal.
A few questions:
- Has anyone here gone through this CU process for STR in Miami recently?
- Was it straightforward, or were there any major obstacles I should prepare for?
- Do you know any reliable and affordable architect who can create and sign the floor plan? Preferably someone familiar with Brickell condos or The Club specifically.
- Is it possible to coordinate the inspection date around guest check-ins/outs?
Appreciate any insights, experiences, or contact recommendations you can share!
Thanks in advance 🙏
