Good restaurants?

Life long New Yorker here, moved my family down to Boca last June. We love almost everything about living down here. Weather is great, don’t miss shitty NY politics, but… can someone please explain why the food is so bad? Sure there are a few solid restaurants, but nothing that has blown my mind. Zero Chinese food, no good chicken wing spots, everything else is very average. I never considered myself a food snob but living down here has been shocking, and we’ve tried literally everything. I almost don’t even feel like going out to eat is worth it anymore. Even when we left the city and were in CT for a bit, restaurant options were far superior. Is it just me or can others relate?
