I know this flyer has been posted several times including earlier today which the Mods locked bc of civility, but I really need to hear from others in the community -
I’ve been planning on going to this march for a month, however given what’s transpired nationally over the last week I’m kind of starting to feel uneasy about it.
In addition to that I just watched a press conference from the Brevard County sheriff and it was so deranged that it made me pause further.
I hate this. I feel like I’m torn because the gov’t and authorities are instilling fear that is impacting my ability to feel safe exercising my first amendment rights, and that’s exactly why it is so important to get out there.
That being said, I want to know what the perspective of others are on this - do you think that there is a real possibility of violence this weekend?
I am born and raised in Chicago; I have gone out and protested for women’s rights both there and here in the past, and I’ve never felt the concern for safety that I can’t shake right now about this weekend.
Am I overreacting? Does anyone else feel this way?
Please be kind in the comments, and please don’t comment at all if it isn’t going to be productive to the conversation I am raising. Thank you!
