First Miami trip - Ft Lauderdale train?

Flying into Ft. Lauderdale Saturday but staying in Miami, I have heard there is a train that will get you from the airport to Miami? Any tips or tricks or recommendations? Or would it be better to try to uber?

Also it’s a sister trip for mid twenties girls looking to relax on beach but also be in a social environment that is away from crazy spring break club scene, if you have any recommendations please send those too!
