I've been a full time yacht service technician for four years and am interested in starting my own business. I was trained at Broward College's Marine Engineering Management program on many boat systems, and have specialized in electrical systems, electronics, and marine corrosion. I have ABYC certifications, and am in the process of renewing my NMEA certs. I also completed an apprenticeship program through Atlantic Technical College and have a journeyman's license.
While I'm in the planning and organizational phase of starting this business, I am interested in gaining as much experience as possible to build confidence and therefore have an offer to the members of this community. If you have a boat issue, concern, or question, I am willing to have a friendly, educational discussion. Despite my specialization, I have some familiarity with most boat systems. I expect my business to specialize, but I love working my brain out, and checking references to refresh myself on things I may have forgotten.
This offer is good until I start the business, at which point I will happily charge you a two hour minimum to listen to your boat problems. I'm also open to a more general discussion about the marine industries, the trades, or whatever.
Obvious **Disclaimer: My discussions are for education only, and should not be construed as professional advice.** (You are not paying me.) **I am not liable for any outcomes from information shared. Always consult a licensed business when you need professional advice or work.**
