Deck Stain question

I built a deck last year. Super proud of the job, I did. I have not stained it. I'd like to eventually get to the point where I'm staining before I build, but alas we aren't there yet. I am building a ramp, staircase, and railing this week.

If I wait another year to stain, will last years boards and this year's boards look similar to each other or will it always be obvious that one section has faded more than the other?
