DAE feel that strangers flirting with you means absolutely nothing?

I remember feeling the blood rush to my face and pure excitement every time a man was flirting with me or complimenting me. Now that I’m a little older, I hate that it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

I’ve always heard that you’ll appreciate the compliments and the flirting more as you get older but if anything, I’ve realized just how inconsequential it is. I’d go as far as to say that it’s a waste of time. ‘Cut the bs; what do you want’ kind of thing. It also does nothing for my ego. What’s this shift I’m going through?
