I (36F) was 23 years old when I ended things with my boyfriend (23) of 3 years.

It was very emotional but otherwise, it felt like two adults having a respectful and reasonable conversation. It was late in the afternoon and we had an extra bedroom in our apartment and we decided to take some time alone and later we would decide who was going to move out etc.

He said he was going to take a nap and I had to be at work in an hour so we hugged and he went into the spare room to lay down and I took a shower and left for work.

I heard nothing from him my entire shift (which given the conversation I wasn’t surprised about)

I was off the clock by 1:30AM, sat down and had a beer and a shot and went home.

When I opened the front door, he was hanging in the living room.
