Apartment one year lease then month-to-month?

Hi all!

My one year lease is about to end. Does my lease automatically becomes month-to-month? Or am I required to sign a year lease again? What is the law here in Flordia? I moved into Boac last summer so I'd like to know how this lease thing work here.
