Any trouble going through immigration on a tourist visa at MIA?

Hey everyone, I have a friend visiting from South America and she is worried about the immigration officers at the airport. She's heard from other friends that they have been giving tourists a tough time and asking for proof of reservations, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this? Appreciate it!
