Vintage item appraisal

I've come into a very unique and, from what I can tell quite old item that may be worth a lot of money. From a little internet research it appears the value can range a bit so I'd like to get it appraised so I know what it's actually worth. Does anyone know of an appraiser that deals in vintage items/antiques?
