Tenant is getting the shaft

I signed a 6 month, first, last & deposit ($3000/ea) lease about 9 weeks ago. Paid my rent on time last month and was about to pay this months today.

The residence I'm renting is secondary to the main house on the property. The other day a city employee was looking around then suddenly there's a notice to vacate immediately. Evidently, the secondary house was all put up without permits. City of Hollywood is ordering it to be torn down unless yada yada yada.

Property owner is seemingly cooperating with the city and demanded us to leave by tomorrow night. He didn't mention giving anything back either. I've never rented much less in Florida (also, I work out of state and all this is happening without me seeing first hand). So my question is what should my family expect to have returned and shouldn't the landlord be on the hook for our housing for some length of time.
