I’m a solo angler traveling to Fort Lauderdale and have been itching to get out on a charter. Problem is, most of the charters I find are either geared toward groups (and charge $800+ for the whole boat), or they don’t accommodate solo fishermen unless you pay full price. I get it – business is business – but $800+ solo is just out of budget for me.
Ideally looking for a shared charter or a “head boat” kind of setup that won’t run more than $500 for the day (bonus if it’s less). I’m open to half-day or full-day trips, inshore or offshore – just want to get some lines wet and have a solid day on the water.
Any recommendations for operations that cater to solo anglers or have decent group rates? Also wouldn’t mind teaming up with someone else local who’s looking to split a trip.
