I recently visited Dasara in Fort Lauderdale and ordered the Pomfret Tandoori listed on their menu. However, when the dish arrived, it was clearly Pompano instead of Pomfret. I asked the server, and they confirmed it was pompano.
I know both fish look somewhat similar and are sometimes substituted, but I was surprised they didn’t mention the change beforehand. Is this a common practice in Indian restaurants in the U.S.? Or should I have been informed before they made the substitution?
Has anyone else experienced this at Dasara or elsewhere?
