My aunt and uncle are visiting from DC, and I’m taking them and my parents (all in their early 70s) out to dinner. None of them are very adventurous eaters, so I’m looking for something classic and comfortable. My dad loves Angelo’s (sadly closed) and 101 Ocean (they don’t take weekend reservations). Ideally, we’d like to stay around Oakland Park/Commercial, maybe near the beach but not a must.
Considering: Mickey’s Downtown Bistro, Patrizia’s, Scolapasta, La Dolce Vita, Ciao Ammore, Il Paesano, Anthony’s Clam House. Open to other options, too!
Looking for a moderate price range—around $20-30 per entrée. I have a reservation at Kaluz, but their parking situation is a hassle, and they have a bunch of rules about seating time limits, only seating inside, etc. Plus, I’ve been so many times that I’m looking for something different.
With spring break crowds, I’m a little concerned about wait times. If anyone has personal experiences with any of the places I’m considering, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Any other recommendations?
