Mosquitoes in Plantation

Is it just this neighborhood or are they unbearable suddenly for everywhere? They were already kind of a problem this year, but i was managing with citronella oil. Now since these recent rains, its like literal clouds. I went outside to get a soda from the car port and within 10 seconds there were 10-15 trying to land on me. They're ignoring my picaridin spray and seem to give no fucks about the citronella oil. My dog wont go out at night without me so I'm feeling like im gonna go crazy soon. I requested broward spray on the site, but I'm not hopeful it will happen. Any suggestions?
