Jet Ski’s & Sharks

Looking into renting a jet ski in Fort Lauderdale, specifically in the inter coastal waterway. This is my first time riding a jet ski and wanted to get some insight and what to do expect when I go out on the water. I know sharks are abundant there, my questions are:

Are sharks attracted to jet skis? Are there lots of sharks in the waterways?
