Is skateboarding in the hollywood beach area illegal?

Hello everyone! I just bought a skateboard and was wondering if I could skateboard around the area, is it illegal to skateboard around here or is it just illegal on the broadwalk? I just want to practice a little outside my apartment nothing crazy, there's this perfect empty parking lot nearby where nobody parks and nobody really around to bother. Thanks in advance!
