Well I messed up. I'm trying a chicken tortilla soup recipe in the slow cooker that calls for 2 garlic cloves. I thought that a clove was the entire thing (definitely was not thinking), so I put in 2 garlic bulbs, about 20 cloves.
The slow cooker is about 3 hours in, and the garlic smell is POTENT. I can already tell that the entire house is going to smell like garlic for days. I might even move the slow cooker into the garage because it is overwhelming.
I'm going to let it finish because the garlic may mellow out enough, but we'll find out if its edible or not in a few hours!
UPDATE: It turned out pretty good! I ended up moving the slow cooker to the garage, so now my entire neighborhood is safe from vampires. Also added another cup or so of broth. The soup is very prominently garlic flavored but not in a bad way. Thanks for everyone's encouragement!
Would I use 2 bulbs again? No. But, would I use 1 bulb? Yeah probably.
