I travel a lot for work and fly through Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport regularly. I’ve been through hundreds of airports and FLL’s rideshare pickup situation might be the worst I’ve seen.
Moving Uber/Lyft pickup to the Palm Garage didn’t fix anything. It just created a massive traffic jam.
Common experience lately:
• 30+ minute waits • Drivers constantly canceling because they don’t want to deal with the airport traffic • Total confusion for visitors trying to find pickupYes it’s peak season (spring break + cruise traffic), but this feels like a system design problem, not just a busy week.
If the airport can’t fix the flow onsite, they should move rideshare pickup offsite with a shuttle like other airports do.
I actually love FLL as an airport, but this situation is getting ridiculous.
Who actually controls this decision? Airport authority? City? County?
Feels like this needs real attention.
